Beyond the practical and moral imperative to empower women in the workplace and ensure equal access to opportunity for low-income women is ample evidence of a business and societal imperative as well. According to a 2018 McKinsey study, companies in the top-quartile for gender diversity on executive teams were 21% more likely to outperform on profitability and 27% more likely to have superior value creation. Moreover, research has shown the more women in the workforce, the more per capita income rises.

This session brings together representatives from companies, investors and UNDP to promote the business case for gender equality in business and tools and resources available to help businesses achieve their gender goals and help women in business thrive.
